Job Description
We're looking for a DevOps to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about environmental issues and designing infrastructure and software. You look forward to joining the Management Information System (MIS) team within our Digital Solutions department supporting (geospatial) data driven projects in forestry, agriculture, ecosystem services and climate change. You should be motivated to solve infrastructure challenges and develop related software solutions, drive innovation, adapt and effectively use a variety of programming languages.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, together with experience in project scoping, logical thinking, programming, and adaptability, are critical. Tasks and responsibilities
  • Linux SRE: manage several Ubuntu hosts in both AWS and local cloud, ensuring robust standards for infrastructure and security.
  • DevOps: Develop and maintain Git pipelines for testing, publishing and deploying Docker Compose projects for web-based applications and background daemons.
  • Development: Support internal teams by maintaining and developing new integration points with internal software using Python.
Requirements
Essential: 
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or related degree and a minimum of 3 years' industry experience. 
  • Strong background in Docker, GitOps and application development pipelines. 
  • Experience with AWS, preferably using Infrastructure as Code tooling (e.g. Terraform).
  • Some knowledge of node configuration tools such as Ansible. 
  • You are a self-starter, relishing new challenges in a dynamic work environment. 
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions. 
Desirable:
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Networking know-how
  • Experience with node and application metrics provided to Prometheus
  • Experience with dashboard development (e.g. Grafana)
