Job Description

Unique land use GmbH is a leading consulting firm for sustainable natural resource management, with a focus on forestry, agriculture and climate change. Unique’s headquarter is located in Freiburg, in the Southwest of Germany.

Unique is looking for an intern to support the Investment Support Services (ISS) portfolio in the forestry department. The intern will work on tasks ranging from traditional forestry assignments (such as market studies and cost analysis) to commercial carbon projects support tasks (which may include yield modelling, literature reviews, reporting, and analysis). Most projects are located in emerging markets.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a German Master's degree program in forestry or a closely related field and looking for a compulsory internship (“Pflichtpraktikum”).
Interest in forestry investments and forest carbon projects in emerging markets
Very good written and spoken English; knowledge of German / Spanish / Portuguese is an advantage
Good Excel and analytical skills
Experience in GIS is a plus

What we offer

Starting as soon as a suitable candidate is found (contract for up to 3 months)
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Internship opportunity in the frame of a compulsory internship experience for MSc at a German university.
Work experience and exposure to real-world projects related to commercial forestry in various countries.
